How do I know if the battery is no longer taking a charge? The red light flashes when I plug it in but it doesn't turn blue just goes out 1 Answer

The flashing indicates the charger is likely to be OK, the light going out says the battery is no longer accepting charge so would indicate a faulty battery.
I have a DC59 but only works for a few seconds before it stops. The blue lights show as normal but I am not getting any red lights which would indicate a problem. How can I check whether the battery is holding its charge? 1 Answer

If the motor speed seems to be correct and does not dip it may be a loose switch inside the motor unit that is interrupting the power. The motor head unit is only available complete and we have no information on repair of this.
I have a Dyson DC59 the power pack will not charge and just shows a red light. I want to purchase the spare power pack but before I do I need to know how I remove the old one

To remove the battery take the screw out just above the power connector and the other behind the bin at the front of the battery. Once removed the battery will slide off the motor unit.
