I have a DC59 but only works for a few seconds before it stops. The blue lights show as normal but I am not getting any red lights which would indicate a problem. How can I check whether the battery is holding its charge?

If the motor speed seems to be correct and does not dip it may be a loose switch inside the motor unit that is interrupting the power. The motor head unit is only available complete and we have no information on repair of this.
