Vacuum Cleaner Clutch Assembly Stock Number: ES212526
Genuine spare part suitable for select models of Dyson vacuum cleaners
Hi, my trusty DC07 all floors when turned on started but then had a very pungent burning smell and after about 7 secs started to sound as if it was powering down. Initially I thought it was the motor, but now I think it could be the clutch. I have checked the belts and both are complete, but there is a lot of black around the spindle of the main belt perhaps indicating the clutch needs to be replaced? I suppose I'm hoping that it is the clutch which is easier for me to replace rather than the motor? Would the machine start at all if the motor had gone?
- it sound as if the clutch is seizing up and the belts are grabbing the drive shafts getting hot and smoking.try removing the clutch and running the motor
i have a 07 all floors the belt going round the brush roller has snapped which part do i need ? 1 Answer
- In this clutch assembly the roller belt and engine belt are integral. So it would appear you need to get this. So for you expensive for a bit of rubber. (See youtube on replacing this part and you'll see what I mean)
The vac motor is fine but no brush revolving (outer drive belt OK), does this same motor turn the clutch? if so, is this either the other drive belt or the clutch thats gone? Cheers

Hi Jack, the main motor powers the clutch. It sounds like the clutch has worn down, or the belt that goes from the clutch to the brushroll has snapped. I'd recommend replacing the clutch.
my dyson DC07 all floors is fine when I am using it upright, but as soon as I tilt it back it makes a grinding sound, is it needing a new clutch, I have changed the clutch belt but this hasn;t resolved the problem. 1 Answer

Hi Sandi, the clutch is effectively a gear, and so the grinding noise is probably coming from it. Before replacing it, I'd give it a clean, removing any build up. If that doesn't solve the problem, you'll need a new clutch.
Will this part fit my appliance?
