Product Q&A

Ask a Question

Having problems with Bosch Exxcel SGS45E68GB/64 dishwasher - it starts the programs ok (and heats water so I know the heater and relays are fine) and runs for a period of time but towards the drying cycle the washer is constantly emptying and refilling - never actually dries the dishes. I've measured the resistance on the NTC (165281) and is is open (infinity). The high limit side of the unit reads 0.3 ohms - does this suggest that the NTC is faulty ? Would it give the symptoms I'm seeing.

It is unlikely the NTC but you will need to check the float in the bottom and if it has activated check for a leak but if not test the flow meter and the impellor jug.

If the heater has tested ok then you would need to test the NTC to determine if it has failed.

Answer this question

The control lights no longer illuminate but the DW has power. The impeller spins briefly and splashes water around and I cannot find any trace of debris in the well. Any ideas please?

Check the hose from the 'float chamber on the left of the machine where it feeds into the sump. These machines can block the hose with a build up of grease that will cause the machine to repeatedly stop filling and start emptying then stop emptying and fill again. The hose is only pushed into the sump and held between the sump and float chamber. Remove it and clean if in doubt.

Hi Brent, this sensor is situated beside the water heater, which is in the base of the dishwasher. To get to it, you'll need to remove the lower basket as well as the filter guard and filter.

Answer this question

After some effort and no obvious way to get to the heater and what i now know from your web site to be the NTS sensor i eventually took dishwasher to pieces and have pump, heater, ntc sensor on the workbench (having made diagrams of electrical connections its necessary to disconnect) this model definately not user friendly to access the working bits. Does MTC sensor serve as a thermostat?. With electrical test meter unit shows open circuit across terminals when at room temperature and in boiling water whereas heater elements show good continuity and appear good with no scale build up.
