Product Q&A

Ask a Question

I have cleaned the dishwasher and the top shelf items are not being cleaned, if I add extra water after the filling and rinsing cycles, you can hear the top arm working and the top shelf items are cleaned. What can I do to fix the problem?

I have a bosch SHV55M03GB dishwasher. It starts to fill somewhat then the tap sign is displayed on the led. What little water that comes in does emptey to waste. Has the water inlet solenoid gone ?

It is likely that the valve needs testing to determine if it has failed.

E24 does normally refer to a blocked filter, please see our video for dishwasher help www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLyA-7SC9ZY and our advice centre for Bosch, Siemens error codes www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/bosch-sms-series-dishwasher-error-fault-codes just copy and paste into your browser.

The dishwasher is 11 years old and is a Siemens SE26T551GB/07. Is the inlet solenoid valve just in the Aquastop valve?

Test the plumbing as if it's filling when off it may be due to backfilling, check if its dirty water as this will confirm it before suspecting the valve.

Answer this question

If I put water in the dishwasher during its fill it washers so it is functioning correctly.

The fault you describe is often caused by grease build up in the hose filling the sump causing the water to back up triggering an overfill signal. Try using a cleaner like Stock Number ES1566874 a time or two before suspecting a 'fault'.

Carefully pull the machine out and run a test cycle. It is likely the banging is caused by the hoses or external plumbing moving when the water is stopped by the machine and adjusting the pipework will likely cure this.

Answer this question

Hi i have bought a second hand bosch dishwasher with a aquastop hose on the water inlet which has been cut off so i am left with a cut twin core cable and hose. Does this have to be installed or can i install an ordinary fill hose and bypass this device as it is very expensive.

The reason why Aquastop hoses are so expensive is they actually move the inlet valve to the tap and not the machine end. If the hose freezes and splits it does not flood as the valve is switched off. You do not have a inlet valve on your machine so require a Aquastop hose to control the water into the machine.
