We did not recognise your model number. If this is a electric cooker with selector switches for the rings disconnect the power and check for signs of damage and blackening on all switches. This can be caused by grease causing the switch to arc over. For more information see our video: How to Replace an Indesit Cooker Hotplate Control Switch http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/1/2465/how-to-replace-an-indesit-cooker-control-switch

It is unlikely to be the control, Check for a 'lower' or 'bottom' element on the top oven as this may be faulty if the oven works on the grill function.
There doesn't seem to be a bottom oven thermostat for this model on the e-spares website inventory. Is there some other model I should look for? I have the ZDF490X (or 944171191) Thanks

Our electrolux cooker bottom oven does not respond to temp setting and gets hotter and hotter. Is the problem the thermostat and is the bottom oven thermostat the same as the top. 1 Answer

Hi elvis, it sounds as though the thermostat is indeed the problem. The top and bottom thermostats are different parts; to find the bottom oven thermostat for your cooker, search its model number to list all parts available for it.
Will this part fit my appliance?
