Answer this question

Ob Bosch slimline Classixx dishwasher have traced a short circuit between live and earth to the respective terminals at the back of the white push-in plastic power assembly at bottom rear of the appliance. There is a deposit of conductive (1000 ohm between the terminals) pinkish jelly between those two terminals, also below it on floor of appliance, but not above it or anywhere else as far as I can see! Could this be electrolyte leakage from capacitor? ie if I replace the cable supply unit would that fix it or could it be food leakage from somewhere else nearby?

It is possible this could be capacitor electrolyte that has leaked but this would usually show on the capacitor. check the one on the motor if fitted as this may be more likely to have caused the deposit.

If you are referring to the mains suppressor for removing interference this is moulded on the other end of the cable from the mains plug.

The block has about 1 mm horizontal movement and no obvious clips to toggle.

If you look carefully at the block you will see three wedges or claws that when pushed in spread behind the panel and secured it in place. These claws may be on both sides or a locating lip. Push the block to one side and using a flat blade under its edge try to prise the assembly out of the panel. If you can see the claws push them into the body to clear the hole.
