Should you replace the seal at the same time or do these last longer?

According to the instructions you will need to wash the filter every 6 months and only replace if it has become damaged.
Can the HEPA filter be washed or will it disintegrate?

This is not shown as being washable on the part so we would advice not to wash it as it may restrict air flow.
Re my DC07; I am looking to replace postmotor hepa - and seen how easy it is on your website. My question is why is my old filter black with grease unlike yours? Am I looking to replace the motor as well? 1 Answer

It is likely your filter has picked up the contamination from the air drawn through your machine and not from the motor. The grease could be from cooking or even animal hairs.

The seals fit between the motor body and the hepa filter that is fitted after the motor underneath the dust canister.
