does the outer green knob come with clutch unit, if not how do you the knob off without breaking it. unable to remove clutch unit through casing 3 Answers
- Yes it does come off, just tilt to the side & use a screwdriver to hold the clip off then tilt the other side, its difficult, be patient.
- it is held on by two "y" clips on the knob be careful when you ease them off.
- The outer knob is not present with the assy. You need to remove the one on the cleaner, this is a snap fit at two points. Slide a thin screwdriver in and lift the snap fit lugs to remove
Does the clutch assembly come with both belts as shown. When re attaching belt onto brush roller do i need a special tool to stretch the belt over.
- yes it is supplied with both belts , i fitted the belt over the roller then reinserted the far end of the roller bar into the caseing then using a certain amount of force located the end nearest the belt.
- yes both are fitted
- The clutch assembly has both belts fitted. The brush belt can be fitted without the special tool but it is difficult. You can hook the belt with a screwdriver shaft and pull it up but you have to have very strong fingers and a high pain threshold. Be very carefull or you might break something. If you can get hold of the belt tool then use it. If i was to do it again i would make up a tool or buy one as there is a risk of damaging the roll, the casing or my fingers. Take care.
- Don't, it's fiddly and in the end your better off buying the clutch than just the belts. I bought the belts for my clutch, what a pain to take apart and put back together.

Vacuumed is 10 years old. Not picking up on carpets. Good suction on hand held. How do I know if it needs a new clutch ?

You would need to access the clutch to check if it's physically working, also check the belt in case it has broken.
