My handle has broken off the washer door, but it seems it is because the door lock has not released at the end of the cycle. So I can't open the door to fit a new one.How can I release it? I've tried a different spin cycle and switching off-and-on, but no joy.Any help please.Thanks
- Probably not the safest way, but my son has been releasing a broken handle with a kitchen knife for about a year now till we found this site for a replacement handle!! I suspect you may have fixed the problem now as I see this post is almost a year old!!

It snapped clean and so the spring mechanism is still intact but won't budge so I cant even get the door open to replace it! Model is Indesit W123S (silver) washing machine. The video on this website shows a different model with a slightly varied handle/lever style so I can't follow the instructions, as is.
