- Here’s a quick TRICK to get them opened WITHOUT TOOLS: you can use a slot on the OLD HINGE to hold the lug that fits into the door frame on the new hinge and easily prise the thing open. This is how I opened mine. JB 30/04/2018

Fit the hinge if possible and use a ring spanner to lever the 'tongue' open and lock it in place.
This appears to be the correct part, however the hinge appears to be in the "locked" position, and I do not know how to open it, so that I can place the hinge in the oven caseing.

Hi Elainey, the hinge is spring activated and should open and close easily - use a blunt object to lever it open and closed.

When choosing a hinge how do you know what's left or right is it if your looking at the fridge it is on the left 1 Answer
Does the hinge come with the two screws that fix it at the bottom? These are missing on my oven . Could that be the cause of the door not closing fully 1 Answer

The hinges are not supplied with screws but a worn hinge is a common reason for the door not to close fully.
