    The problem is either the thermocouple or a poor flame onto the thermocouple tip. Clean the burner carefully with a toothbrush to ensure a good flame and replace the thermocouple if this does not resolve the problem.

    The likely cause is contamination on either the 'pilot' flame or the ignition electrode.
