The problem is either the thermocouple or a poor flame onto the thermocouple tip. Clean the burner carefully with a toothbrush to ensure a good flame and replace the thermocouple if this does not resolve the problem.

The main oven on my Rangemaster 90 only lights sometimes straight away. I can hear the the spark ignition and smell the gas coming through but it does not always light. why is this? 1 Answer

The likely cause is contamination on either the 'pilot' flame or the ignition electrode.

eSpares sells a wide range of products to both consumers & trade customers. Unfortunately, due to the nature of your enquiry, we cannot advise on repairs of this nature. We recommend that only people registered with the Gas Safe Register make this type of repair. Maybe a good option for you would be to use a repair company like "Repaircare" who offer a fixed price option.
When I switch the power on the red light for the left hand oven comes on. When the oven is switched on the outside of the element heats up and then turns off. The elements new could it be the thermostat? 1 Answer
The oven is a Rangemaster 110 the only other number I can see on it is O025660 in the bottom corner of the sticker on the back. I got a new element and pygmy lamp from you today thinking the element was at fault but now I am a bit unsure and dont want to just buy spares guessing.

It is difficult to be sure without seeing your problem but if the element heats for over a few minutes before shutting down for several minutes it would suggest the oven is overheating and cutting out. If this is the case the thermostat would likely to have stuck or failed and be causing the overheating.
