Check the door seal
If the seals around the edge of your oven are damaged, hot air will escape from your appliance. Check your oven door seals regularly for wear and tear and replace them if they're not doing their job.
Keep the door glass clean
Opening your oven door during cooking allows heat to escape. Instead, clean your oven door glass regularly. That way, you can see inside the oven clearly, without affecting the internal temperature.
Use the correct burner ring
Use a hob ring the same size as your saucepan. If the hob is smaller than the pan, the food will take longer to cook and if it's larger heat can escape around the edge and could even melt the pan's handle!
