Re: Have i made a mistake with the wiring?
ok so I swapped the leads over a set at a time, first the coil, which i was pretty certain were correct in the first place as I'd marked them - and switched the machine on (DE6544). The soap dispenser door stayed shut up until the front door was closed. as soon as the lock sets, the soap door opens. I then put the coil leads back to how I first set them and tried again - same result. I then swapped the two leads on the reed and once again closed the door - the soap door flicked open as soon as the power button was switched on with the front door locked. Next, i swapped the reed leads back to the original position but moved the adaptor to the other plug. Same result. I then swapped the reed leads over, keeping the adaptor on the second plug and again had the same result. It didn't seem to matter what way round the leads were set, it gave the same result every time. looking at the mechanism for the soap door switch - when the dishwasher door is closed and the power button is turned on, the release activates every time. Have I missed something, or could the soap dispenser unit be faulty?
