Ask a Question

During the course of a week or so my Bosch washing m/c gradually fills up with water when not in use so presumably one of the inlet valves (hot or cold) is sticking. How do I find out which one ?

To check the valves select pre wash for the first container. Main wash for the second and for the conditioner you must select final rinse. For more information see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1825/how-to-diagnose-washing-machine-dispenser-and-filling-problems

Answer this question

I've checked for blockages from inlet valve, but all clear. There are twin motors on the valve. Does one of them just flush the softener, and may be faulty. Any advice appreciated before I order a new valve. Regards Ron Adams

The two valves supply the main wash and the pre wash compartments. To dispense the conditioner both are turned on and some water will be pushed into the conditioner compartment. This usually blocks with mould in the dispenser top so check if the pre wash and main wash are dispensing on final rinse. if they are then so should the conditioner. Check our video (How to diagnose washing machine dispenser and filling problems) for more details.

The fault is likely to be either the element for the dryer has failed or the thermostat on the dryer assembly may have 'tripped' This is shown in Stock Number: ES486179 as the red button and pressing this button may restore heat to your machine.

Answer this question

The washing machine fills with clean water overnight. I've read that the Cold water valve may not be working, just want to get another opinion before i order the part.

You may see the water dripping down the back of the dispenser housing, Turn the supply off to confirm and replace the valve if proved faulty.

Answer this question

My machine has stopped softening. I have steam cleaned and tooth brushed the water outlet (used to fix it) but no improvement. Could it be the water inlet valve, please?

If a machine has been designed to cold fill it cannot be supplied with hot water, this would waste hot water on the rinse cycles. The machine is designed to heat the correct amount of water and to the correct temperature and will do this very efficiently.

Answer this question

When loaded and the cycle has finished half the wash is clean the rest dirty, dry. Is it enough water coming in? Bosch WFX3268GB
