Tumble Dryer Cut Out Thermostat Stock Number: ES658941
Genuine spare part for select models of Hotpoint, Indesit and Ariston tumble dryers
I have a Creda TVR2 tumble dryer and one of the thermostats is open circuit. I intend replacing both thermostats, but neither has any markings. One has an orange wire connected to both terminals - and the other has a blue and a black wire connected to one terminal and a blue wire to the other terminal. I understand the replacement kit has a 1 x 120dC and a 150dC. Do these go in any of the positions, or do they go in a specific position. Thanks

Yes we think it is.
- Thanks Chris - out of interest, is the one with the coloured spot the One-Shot Cut-Out?

Hi, I bought a thermostat kit for my tumble dryer. When i tested the existing stats only one was open circuit. I have received two stats which are colour coded. Should I replace both and are the existing stats colour coded the same as the new ones? 1 Answer

It is important on dryers to replace the thermostats correctly as one is a cycling thermostat and the other will be a safety cut out thermostat.

This is only the thermal cut out. Both the thermostat and cut out are available as Stock Number ES1063487
HI my dryer has stopped blowing heat, shortly after i found a sock in the filter, could that be the cause? What will it have damaged? Thermostat? Heating element or the thermal fuse? thanks in advance 1 Answer

A blockage may have cause airflow problems, if you have no heat you will need to test the heating components. Check out our diagnosing video www.youtube.com/watch?v=trJXdqNBn7M

Please view our advice centre page which will give you more information on this matter, www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/how-to-diagnose-tumble-dryer-drying-and-heating-problems The model in this video may be different to yours, however the process should be similar for other makes and models.

I have an indesit IDV65(UK) tumble dryer which I think might be getting too hot. At the start of the cycle the drum appears to rotate OK but when the dryer gets hot it starts to rotate more slowly. Is there a way I can test the thermostats to ensure they are operating at the correct temperatures ? What temperatures should the two thermostats open at ? Thanks

If suspect replace the thermostats, you may have a motor capacitor problem see: How to Diagnose Tumble Drier Motor and Noise Problems : www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/2051 or How to Diagnose Tumble Drier Drying and Heating Problems: www.espares.co.uk/advice/9/2050
- Thermostats on tumble driers, in normal conditions, are always closed but during a time when it starts to overheat, as when the airways are blocked for example, it will open circuit to cut off the heating elements. Hope that helps.
Will this part fit my appliance?
