Sounds like a faulty thermostat, see the video attached and our advice centre for more information.

Any moisture on the electrical connections or controls can cause this problem but is more likely to be due to an element absorbing moisture causing it to fail.

The spindle/rod for my thermostat passes through the body of a multiswitch. The photo of the thermostat suggests that this rod is not long enough. Do you think it is? 1 Answer
My oven is a Tricity President SB432W. The heating elements in the main oven do not heat up. The fan works and the red temperature light by the side of the main oven control knob lights up.

If your oven uses this thermostat and is overheating after a short while then this thermostat may be faulty. Check the circulation fan (if fitted) is spinning freely. For more info see: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/1/2145/how-to-diagnose-problems-with-your-oven

On some ovens the cooling fan will continue unless the oven selector switch is set to the off position. If the cooling fan runs in this position then it is the cut in or fan thermostat that requires replacement.
