  • I've just successfully changed the Lower Door Seal on our dishwasher - getting the top off was the most challenging part! You should also make careful notes of the screw types – fine threaded to go into metal and coarse threaded (like wood screws) to go into plastic. Seems like the fixings for the top have changed over the years. Our machine is from 2008 and has two 'wood' screws at the front and one (of three possible) 'metal' screws at the back – you need to undo all of these first. At the front the top has two big plastic blocks with locking lugs – you can see the lugs down little tunnels facing you. Use a screwdriver to push each lug back which will allow you to pull the top up at the front. At the back the top has two lugs sticking through the rear metal panel. Tug the top forwards to release it from these lugs. Hope this works for you By Andrew R - Hook - 12 January 2020

The lid on most Bosch dishwashers slides and locks in place. We think that at the back there is a clip either side moulded into the top that needs to be released to prevent locking the lid in place.

Answer this question

should the lower grey tray have a convex bend along there lip running left to right, this is the lip that the seal is attached to. It bends outwards slightly towards the middle. I have photos which I can send showing the problem.

The only time it needs to be replaced is because the dishwasher is leaking from the seal or the door does not close correctly due to the tray catching.

The covers Stock Number: ES731804 have clips that hold them in place and we think they have to be twisted to unhook and remove them.

Answer this question

I have just changed the lower door seal which took about 2hrs. Your video was very helpful but I initially had problems trying to actually fit the seal to the rim of the dishwasher towards the end. It turned out being less complicated than I thought. The whole dishwasher toppled forward quite a bit at one point and I wondered whether this has pulled the water pipe too much and therefore caused the tap symbol to come up and therefore no water to come through.

Hi I have viewed the video on how to change the bottom seal on a Bosch dishwasher, which looks very detailed and easy to follow. The problem I have is my dishwasher is integrated so what do i need to do to remove the dishwasher from the housing and what should I look out for such as cables, hoses falling off etc? Many thanks
