This product will help clean all areas it is in contact with. As it is only in the drain hose a short time try dissolving another sachet into a jug of warm water and pouring slowly into the drain hose to allow a longer exposure to a concentrated solution.
I have reduced load put into washing machine

We have no dismantling information on this model, we believe the hob top is released by removing screws at the back and hinging up before sliding away from he front. There is no 'back light' if it is your timer not lit you will need to confirm the product number (104730?) for us to locate the part you require.

The active ingredient in one sachet of cleaner is only 5 grammes of Sulphamic acid per treatment around 60 grammes per year. A very small amount that would be extremely diluted but you should check advise from your sewage contractor if in doubt.
...possibly due to a partially blocked drainage hose. Will this product clear the hose or does it only clean the dishwasher itself?

It will clean washers and dishwashers, for information see our video: How to Diagnose Draining and Motor Problems in a dishwasher: www.espares.co.uk/advice/3/1889

This products active ingredient is Sulphamic acid and is safe to use in empty washing machines or dishwashers to clean them. The machines will have a rinse cycle to remove any significant residue from the Appliance during the cycle.

It is possible (but in our opinion unlikely) that using this product could increase the chance of the appliance leaking so it has this warning. This would apply to most if not all other descaling remedies.
will anything help to remove film left by this. We have soft water and I use very little and not for every wash.

We would suggest soak the drawer in a bucket of warm water to re hydrate the conditioner and then use either a cloth\scourer and either vinegar or baking soda and a little water to try and remove this.
I have a LG washing machine and it has a built in cycle for cleaning the drum etc but when using this product on my hotpoint machine I just put it on 90 wash, so should I use the built in cycle or just use the 90 wash on my LG machine?

I have an LG and always use just a normal 60C cycle as the tub clean function can flush the cleaner away just after filling .
