This thermostat is located in the front volute, the front cabinet would need to be removed to gain access, we also have a video to help www.youtube.com/watch?v=trJXdqNBn7M&t just copy and paste into your browser.

Answer this question

Bosch tumble dryer only just getting warm even with new element & rear thermostat assembly. I suspect the front ntc thermistor to be faulty, but it does show different resistance when hot/cold. What are the correct resistance values for this item, thanks

Although listed on our system we cannot confirm this is fitted. It may be a replacement for the sensor at the bottom front of the machine.

Answer this question

Please could you advise if the thermostat is likely to be the problem with our Bosch Exxcel Tumble Dryer, (I have checked and this is the correct spare part for our model). It heats up and dries the clothes effectively but even on the "low heat" setting, it is very hot and has therefore been shrinking our clothes! We have been through your video clip on heating issues with tumble dryers and already cleaned and emptied out the filters and water containers. Thanks!

Check your wash care labels to confirm that these clothes are OK for tumble drying. If the dryer is clear of blockages and vents OK then a new thermostat may improve this however you may still experience shrinking with some clothing.

Answer this question

The heating unit has been replaced but still does not heat up. I have removed the above thermostat and a test meter indicates it is open. What is the normal state of a good working thermostat? Before I purchase a new thermostat from you I want to confirm that I have identified the faulty part. Many thanks.

This in my opinion looks more like a typical thermistor. If this is the case it could have a resistance of between 2000 ohms and 40,000 ohms. if you can read a resistance between these values it is likely to be correct. If it is a condenser dryer check that it does not have a float valve turning the heater off when the water is full.

Answer this question

I have checked the sump pump and it is running, everything else has been cleaned.

Hi there. The first thing you need to do is make sure your multimeter is set to the 'ohms' function and the range is set to the lowest ohms range. Attach the multimeter test leads to the connection terminals on the thermostat. For a fully working thermostat with an open circuit, the LCD should read 'OL', '0.00' or '0.5'. If it's a number higher than 0.5, the thermostat will need to be replaced.

model wtl6106gb/07. I recently replaced the heater element but still not working properly. Is this easy to fit?

Hi Hondacivic, this thermostat monitors temperature in the dryer - it ensures that the element is heating to the correct temperature. As for fitting it, I wouldn't attempt it if you weren't 100% confident. The stat sits at the bottom right in the frame where you enter the clothes.

is this the thermostat that turns off machine if your filter is blocked model No wtv74104gb0/1

Hi, in extreme cases a blocked filter will cause the temperature in the dryer to become so high that the thermostat will cut out. Most of the time a measure of a fault thermostat is if the temperature in the dryer is either too hot or too cold. Check out this help article on how to clean your tumble dryer for help with your blocked filter: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/tumble-dryers/a/9/120/cleaning-your-tumble-dryer.html
