Product Q&A

Ask a Question

I see you say the 1000w motor should have a different pulley fitted which is supplied. My question is how difficult is it to change the pulley? I've experimented on the old motor and discovered a lot of force is required which wouldn't be good on a new motor.

We do not have any information on the replacement of the pulley, but this only applies to the X4 extra. Sebo only supplies this part due to the X4 motor being no longer being available.

Your description suggests a worn or failing motor.

I runs ok then slows then a smell of heat. Its about 17 years old. its 1300w x4 extra. I took motor out. One brush worn more than the other and has curvature of the rotor. It then ran ok for a while and slowed again and now again ok.

It is possible the motor is damaged but we would try replacement brushes first due to the age of the appliance.

It may be possible to fit this motor but a word of caution. This other motor is going to produce an extra fifteen per cent heat so this could result in overheating. In practice this should not be an issue as long as the filters are clean or have recently been replaced.
