On the drain pump, you should be able to fit the wires either way.

My washing machine drains the water from the drum and then leaks. Its a large amount of water. This is variable. Sometimes it works fine other times it has been leaking. Is the pump the likely cause? 1 Answer
I have checked the drains and drainage pipe for blockage. I have checked the filter which is clean but fills with water on a leak.

If there was a problem with the pump or filter it would likely leak on every use. If this is intermittent it may be leaking when filling from the dispenser due to excess soap or mould, or from the drain pipe if it overflows on emptying due to poor plumbing or blockage, See our video: • http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1825/how-to-diagnose-washing-machine-dispenser-and-filling-problems
Hi I have a Zanussi FJR1454W washing machine and it's started to make horrible whirring/screech sound on spinning - do you think I need a replacement drain pump? 1 Answer
Also on latest wash noticed some small round black stains on clothes is this connected?
- Sounds like the main bearings. The black will be also from them wearing away.
Hi, my washing machine is working perfectly fine even though i've had it for 9 years without any problems. But it's decided to be lazy and not drain the water, i've cleaned the filter and pipes and everything is clear. Do you think it's the drainage pump? and if so is it easy to replace? My machine is a tricity bendix AW815S and it's a 850 watt.
