You may use a charcoal filter if you are recirculating the air back into the kitchen to remove smells.
The FilterKleen used to wash this filter seems to be discontinued. Any advice on what product to use now? 1 Answer

Hi again Montysan, this professional oven cleaner spray makes a decent alternative: http://www.espares.co.uk/part/cleaning-products/cooker-and-hob-cleaning/indesit/p/1422/805/0/0/869865/professional-oven-cleaner.html
Especially as the filter cleaner mentioned in another question doesn't seem to be available any more.

Hi Montysan, I wouldn't recommend washing the filter in the dishwasher; it won't clean the filter as thoroughly as doing it by hand will. Check out this video for a demo on cleaning a cooker hood filter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyMjNPVUN1I

Hi Anon, Yes, you can! A lot of our customers use this product to clean their metal filter covers: http://www.espares.co.uk/part/cleaning-products/cooker-and-hob-cleaning/p/1422/0/0/0/510028/filterkleen-375ml.html You spray on and then rinse off. Make sure that they're completely dry before putting them back into the extractor fan.
My MFI cooker hood was purchased in 2001. I do not have any details of make or model. The grease filter looks very much like the one in your image, but I can't be sure if it will fit. My cooker hoods uses 2 of these filters side by side and each one measures 30cm x 24cm.
- This sounds like the cooker hood I purchased from MFI some years ago. In fact on mine there is a Hygena label on the inside of the hood with this model number so it is in fact a Hygena hood. I bought a set of filters from MFI before they went bust and they look exactly like the ones in this picture. I only just found this website so that's why I haven't replied before.
Hi - I believe I need two of these for my unit - does it cone packed in 2s? If not, are there any cheaper alternatives? I've noticed a range of grease filters under £10 - do these come with any kind of frame allowing them to be plugged into a hygena hood?

Hi Richsaw, these filters are sold separately. The universal filters are cut to size and then fit in to the existing frame in the hood.
I am looking for a metal cooker hood filter for the above model any ideas where I can find this part

Hi Kats Unfortunately we do not stock metal grease filters for the Hygena APP2140 cooker hood, and this one is not compatible. However we will look to our suppliers and aim to stock one in the future. We hope your search for a filter was successful though!
Is this item compatible with the Hygena Hood - part number APM2592 ? Do I need more than one and if so how many ? Thank you in anticipation.
