Is it usual for the first couple of glasses of water to be discoloured after replacing the water filter? 1 Answer

Yes. You will usually be advised to run water through the dispenser until this clears completely.
I seem to have had another filter fitted to my lg fridge. Can I cut the pipes to replace it/

Most external water filters either have ends that screw off or push fit connections that have a collar to push toward the filter body that will release the pipe when pressed. If you have plenty of pipe available it is possible to cut the pipe with strong scissors if required.
- I 'cut off' the existing cartridge. The new cartridge comes with screw fit attachments. Put the nuts on the pipework first, heat the ends of the pipe in hot water. Push the warmed ends on to the cone shaped ends of the cartridge, tighten up the nuts. Job done. Always check that the flow arrow is in the right direction.
