Screw in middle goes round but cannot prize circular seal free. It connects via wire to a three spade thermostat C00038650.I need to remove sensor disc and thermostat to test them. Can I remove sensor disc without pulling out the fridge to get to the back?
- I have the same problem, I removed the appliance from its housing only to find that there is no access to the disc fixings from the back of the fridge. I have tried in vain to remove the existing disc but all to no avail. I was thinking of getting a new disc and self tapping it to the rear of the fridge! but I am not sure if this will damage anything.

Hi there. You'll need to get round to the back of the fridge - it'll allow easier access, and you should be able to replace the disc with ease.
I need to replace this do you have any suggestions to what I could use? there is a hole at the back of the fridge to attach the sensor disc to.

This disc is used to ensure the thermostat capillary contacts the wet wall of the fridge to regulate the temperature correctly and it is important that the correct amount of contact is made. If the screw is damaged you may be able to remove it by carefully nibbling the plastic away until you can grip the head of the screw with a pair of pliers and turn it.
