How do you access it. Looks like the vision has one complete shell not a side panel. Usually I work it out but this has got me.

- You can gain access to the capacitor through the front ! Remove the lower panel ! There are 2 screws holding a cover over the front of the fan on the lower right side ( remove ) ! There is a white ring In front of the fan pull it towards you and remove. Remove the nut and fan washer from the fan shaft. You will notice the top half of the fan housing will slide towards you and move up and away from the lower half. You then need to give the fan housing a quarter turn clockwise and remove it ( this bit is tight but it can be done with a it of manipulation ) hey presto you will just have enough room to change the capacitor through the fan vent. Just ask the expert engineer 😇

Sorry but you have already worked it out. Unfortunately to access the capacitor you have to remove top, front drum support belt and drum from the machine (unless you are a contortionist). We hope to do a video on this shortly.
I can see that one has failed, blackened and in half. Do I need to replace Heater and stats or just the faulty one. Is there another problem which might have caused the faulty one to blacken?

Just to clarify my earlier answer on two thermostats. Many dryer heaters have two thermostats fitted, one will be a cycling thermostat regulating the heat and the other will be an overheat cut out. It is important to ensure that you have both types fitted if this is the case and to ensure this it may be safer to replace both together if fitted.
- I have 2 thermostats on my Hoover HNC175S-80 dryer,should i replace the 2 when only one looks to be the problem.

Just replace the faulty thermostat. This carries a high current that will blacken and burn the thermostat if it starts to fail.

It otherwise looks the same. Your Chris did not answer this question when asked by another person which is frustrating, but only talked about bridging being dangerous, I am asking why your part seems to have a very different temperature rating than mine.

My tumble dryer is heating up but after a short while the filter care light comes on and the heat cuts out. Bridging the thermostat seems to cure this problem but is this likely to fix the problem or should I change the whole heater element?

These thermostats are essential to prevent fire and must be replaced with the same type and never be left bridged. Check the condenser filters and hoses are clear from build up and replace if required.
