1 Question and 1 Answer

I've followed your excellent instructions. Just so you know. in.However when fitting the replacement I can still see the black rubber seal. Ie it hasn't gone all the way in. I've tried pushing but I can't get it in further (I also used fairy liquid). To test it I poured water into drum. It doesn't leak. Does this sound ok or should I pull it out again and bang it in with a hammer?

When pushing in a heater element like this i usually slacken the centre bolt and fit a socket and socket extension over the bolt before thumping it home with the palm of my hand. It should be possible to push almost fully home till the metal surround 'bumps' against the lip and 'rebound' out a millimeter approximately.
