  • is there a diagram to fit terminal box? By sally potvin - - 27 March 2017
  • Probably too late for you now, but: Isolate the supply FULLY before starting (live and neutral). Open the cover (screw driver clips or dedicated cover screw) and remove the supply cable. Unscrew the box from the appliance. Remove each wire from the old terminal box (one by one) and connect to identical position in the new terminal box. These are 'spade' connectors and normally can be removed by hand, although pliers maybe of assistance. Once all wires transferred to the new terminal box, mount new terminal back into appliance and reconnect supply cable. Always check connections to ensure no wiring short circuits. Apply power and test. If you have the equipment, perform a portable appliance test (PAT) before connection of main power cord to ensure continued safety. By Anonymous - Orkney - 29 April 2012

Hi, I have a double oven, the top oven is an oven/grill. Whilst using the lower oven last week, it tripped the electric switch and wont heat up, you can hear the fan is on and the light is on but no heat. The top grill works, but if you switch it to oven mode it also trips the electric switch. The cooker is only 20 months old, so wouldnt think it would be the element. but also the top oven i have been told works from the grill element, but the grill works. its just when you switch to oven mode on either oven that that it trips the switch. Any idea if this part could be the cause please? (Apologies i hope my questions makes sense)

The likeliest cause of the oven tripping the electrics would be the element so you would need to check it with a meter.
