Hi, I'm currently trying to diagnose a fault on my AEG U7101-5-M oven. After running the bottom oven on fan setting 200 deg for about twenty mins the RCCB in my consumer unit trips out. 1 Answer
I have replaced the fan element but this did not resolve the problem, I have also tried disconecting all lower oven elements just after it has cut out but still if I reset trip and switch lower oven on it immediately cuts out. No obvious signs of shorts to earth. Can a thermostat or thermal cut out cause this problem? Cheers Al.

Unlikely, try disconnecting the grill and other elements and the oven lamp as one is likely to be breaking down when hot.
ZANUSSI DOUBLE OVEN MODEL ZUQ875X PRODUCT NO 944171379 S/N 74000003 VOLTAGE 230/240 V `50 Hz WATTAGE5.6-6.1kW Hi Main bottom oven now trips out at around 100 c I thought it was again the main element but just bought that from your selves Fitted the part and still trips breaker So unsure if it’s the thermostat or the fan oven thermal cut out Have you any ideas ?

In this case it could be any of the elements causing the oven to trip, not necessarily the active element. Try disconnecting and insulating each element and testing. Engineers would use a Megger, but a multimeter may also show some resistance to earth on a faulty element. Place one pin on a connector of the isolated element and the other pin on the element bracket to test.
This item is correct for the cooker EDB705GR but is it what I need? The oven heats up but dosn't stop heating when its to temperature. There is a small 'wand ' or probe in the oven that looks quite tatty is this part of the thermal cut out or is it a 1 Answer

Hi Chris- of course it's best to have a professional look at it if you are unsure but certainly from what you're saying it sounds to me like, yes a new cut-out/ thermostat that will sort the problem.
I have a Zanusi ZUQ875X Built in oven, the main oven element only seems to last 6 months or less and burns out, falling apart. I would have thought it should last a lot longer than 6 months, what would you suggest. 0 Answers

I have an AEG U7101-4-A, and recently the bottom oven and the timer seem to have no power, but the top oven is working fine. Could it be this part that has failed? How could i tell if it has failed? If I opened my oven and found this part (with the power off!) should there be low/no resistance between the two terminals? Thanks
