My decalcifier also has black gunge in there as well as the brown decalifying powder. The machine smell despite all cleaning. could this be the cause?
- Hi Rory the black Gunge is in the decalcifier rather than in the machine, so dont think it would get back in there

Hi jonebgud, I'd advise running an empty wash with a sachet of this limescale and detergent remover in there as well - this should go a long way to clearing any gunge or build up.
What is the brown gunge for that is in the centre compartment of these units? I take it this should be there? 1 Answer

Hi Etypebob, this substance aids in the decalcifying process.
It will fill with water in the bottom and top chambers, but when the top chamber empties into the bottom chamber it over flows. The problem started after I cleaned out the inlet valve as it was not filling. Do I need a new valve or decalcifier?
