Oven Door Seal

If you are finding that heat is escaping from your oven, it sounds like you need to replace the door seal. If you have a faulty door seal, the heat will escape - which could lead to your food not being cooked correctly, or the control panel and its buttons being damaged.

This 2 metre door seal kit is suitable for either the grill/top oven door or the main oven door - simply cut to size. eSpares has this replacement door seal, that could soon be added to the door of your oven to ensure that the heat remains where it should be - inside the oven, cooking your tasty meals!

Specification:

  • Length: 2m
  • Cut to size

You obtained the seal for me which is a genuine Stoves part (excellent) but it looks as though (1) it cannot be replaced from the outside of the oven and (2) a gap (in the seal) should be left at the top because there is a stainless steel plate there which seems to leave no room for the rubber seal. It might be to allow the hot combustion gasses out but I can't remember if the seal was a complete circle when the oven was new. Can you advise me please or supply a drawing?

  • The door seal can be fitted from the outside of the oven. Old oven door seal may require pliers to grip the old seal, apply a firm pull to remove old seal. Grease and grime tends to build up, has the effect of 'gluing' old seal to oven housing-even with the best general cleaning. The stainless steel plate fitted by the manufacturer ensure's an air gap. I have exactly the same plate in my oven. Clean out the groves before fitting new oven seal. Proceed to fit from bottom, centre of oven housing, working outwards towards the top on either side. Allowing the gap for the stainless steel plate. Simply trim off excess rubber door seal. Hope this helps although I see it is several weeks since you posted your question. Unfortunately I can only hazard a guess that this will be, if yours is old (and potentially discontinued) it may now be superceded by the models ending 2311/2311. Double check with the supplier or take a tape-measure around the seal, this one is 2 metres long.

We rang Stoves recently and they told us our oven is model no. 059852017 and the oven seal part number we need is 031423612 however I notice that this model number is not listed as suitable for this seal on your site. I would prefer to buy from you as you are cheaper than Stoves - can you tell me if this seal will fit my oven? P.S It has rounded corners and we have already tried a ''universal'' door seal but this does not fit - when we drilled it on instead of using the clips the door would then not close!
