Karcher Pressure Washer Outlet Connection Cover
Have you got a leaky pressure washer? The usual suspect is one of the elbow connections, especially if your water pressure is also poor. Due to bad weather or lack of use these connectors can split over time. Replace it to help stop leaks and get cleaning with full power again.
Please Note: Check the image below, if the part you need is positioned to the left of the control head, then this is the correct part. If it is positioned underneath the control head, then this is not the correct part you require.
Please note: Does not include the o-ring seal, which can be purchased separately here.

Depending on model you may have to replace the control head itself.
- Hi Matt. Its the thread on the control head cover that has worn. In fact, the slot where the metal fork clip should fit has somehow sheared off. Changing the elbow is the easy bit. What about the control head?
- What about worn thread on the connector from the piston head cover - where it connects to the outlet elbow. I've no idea how its worn but it means the c clip no longer holds the outlet elbow in place and now I get a leak when the washer is powered up.

If the thread on this connector is damaged replacing this as shown in the video should resolve the problem.
model 4.99 new out elbow fitted. leaking at point where elbow meets outlet pump. Ordered o ring for it. I have fitted it over the screw fit on the outlet pump. now cannot fit new elbow to pump. cannot insert metwl clamp. Any ideas? Am I puting the o ring in the correct place? Any help appreciated Bob
- As stated above you need a small O ring which doesn't come with espares part (although espares claim it comes woth all seals). I found that when I connected up to the low pressure hose the outlet connection leaked slightly so I wasn't hopeful. However when I switched on the pump the leak got worse for a second then it stopped suddenly - I assume the pressure seated the O ring properly. The sealing method is quite confusing - the outlet connection has an internal tube with an external O ring which looks like it should seal to the inner surface of the pump outlet. However it as actually much too small to do this - presumably it's for use with a different model. Incidently the pressure hose will seal directly to the pump outlet (without using the elbow) and it seals using this type of external O ring. It seems Karchner use some universal parts that seal in different ways on different models.
- Hi Bob, You need the small 'O' ring which is about the same size as the one on a male garden hose connector. It just sits on the inner pipe. The screw fitting is not actually used with this connector and (I think) was or is for a different machine using the same pump. The big orange DIY store does a pack of 'O' rings in the plumbing section for about £1.99. The one you need is in there - so is the larger one for the Inlet (clear plastic) pipe. That one sits in a groove and is easy to see! Best of luck, CJ
- The O ring fits inside the female connection of the pump so that it buts up to the elbow outlet fitting.
After replacing this part, anytime I hook up the pressure hose, the pressure forces water out through the other end i.e. metal c-clip end (washer is still off). Is there a seal/o-ring that I am missing at this end ?
- Nearly made the same mistake. Inside there is a small rubber O ring, luckily I saw it when it fell out but could easily have missed it.
- Yes. It is a standard size, Though I cannot remeber the actual size.
Will this fit with the replacement hose kit (HK 7.5) which comes with a 'quick connect' adaptor ? 1 Answer
I have a K3.99M pressure washer and purchased the replacement hose kit but can't fit the adaptor to my pressure washer - it feels like they have different threads. The thread on the outlet cover looks worn but I'm not sure if this damage has been caused by my efforts to fit the adaptor. On the box it states that the kit is suitable for K2 - K7.

This connection should be suitable.
The joint between my conservatory roof extension tube and the lance is leaking; I think it is a problem with the yellow stopper located in the extension. Can you tell me how to remove the old stopper. 1 Answer

Looking at the yellow connectors on Stock Number: ES537803 they look as if they simply rotate 45 degrees to allow the bayonet fitting to release and remove them.
