Hi, the motor will only start when you twist the oven settings knobs on the front of your cooker.

Answer this question

My problem is I can't get at it to check it over as I am unable to remove the unit from the housing (after removing the two retaining screws). I would welcome any suggestions. I am currently running the fan on defrost to see if that will loosen it up a bit. The oven doesn't get a lot of use.

It is likely to require a new fan motor.

Answer this question

After fitting a new element i now have an annoying queak/squeal from the fan. Its fine when cold but after 2 mins it starts. i thought it was the fan nut not tight but thats fine. could i have damaged the bearings by wiggling the fan to get it off ?

Hi landymanrob. The squeaking could be caused by a variety of things; perhaps the bearing, perhaps the fan itself, it could even be how it's been wired that's causing the problem. The way to diagnose the problem is through process of elimination. Best of luck!
