Is it 25W? Tips for getting the glass cover to screw off in both the grill & main oven compartments...I am finding it only moves slightly to right or left and no further.????
- i have just replaced bulb in my cannon cooker, the glass cover turnes 180 degrees anticlock wise then pull,if very stiff could be caused by build up of dirt in thread, hope this is helpfull.
- a small drop of WD40 dropped onto the start of the thread eventually loosens the cover glass-but expect a little smoke when the oven is next used unless wiped thoroughly before re-assembly
- Hotpoint's web site says your bulb & cover are the same as the ones in my oven. Your official replacement is 15w, the eSpares bulb is the same. The cover unscrews anticlockwise so brush a little olive oil around the base (WD40 does not enhance food flavour) & work it loose.

Do you simply twist it off? Or push-and-twist at the same time or some other clever way, clock-wise or anti-clockwise??? Driving me mad...

Hi BeeDeeUK, how to remove the cover will depend on what model oven you have. Most are screw-on/screw-off, and it's wise to rememember the 'righty-tighty, lefty-loosey' method. Check out this video for help: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/cookers-and-hobs/a/1/1269/how-to-change-an-oven-light-bulb.html. The cooker in the video is a Whirlpool rather than an oven this lamp is compatible with, but the process should be pretty similar.
