Fridge Thermostat

A refrigerator thermostat maintains the desired temperature by switching the cooling device on and off. If you’ve noticed the food in your fridge freezer is getting frozen or spoilt too early, then you might have a faulty thermostat. Maintain your fridge at the correct temperature with this replacement from eSpares and preserve your food for when you need it the most.

Answer this question

My Zanussi ZRB227XO Fridge freezer isn't chilling properly. At around 6 and a half on the dial the fridge is at 10 degrees. When I turn the temp down a fraction, it goes to 0 degrees and starts freezing. Does this mean that I have a faulty thermostat, and if so, do you know if this is as straight forward to fit in this specific model as the video shows? Thanks

This suggests the thermostat is faulty. To replace it should be very similar to the one shown in the video attached to this part.

First fully defrost for 48 hours to ensure problem not caused by ice build up, if this works but the problem returns after a couple of weeks or more then there is a defrost or ice problem. If the appliance does not get cold and the compressor at the back is warm or hot it shows the fridge is trying to cool and there is a fault with either the compressor or the gas in the system. Both faults require a system engineer and are likely to be relatively expensive.
