We do not recommend testing components live, you would need to test the defrost timer with a multimeter. We do not have access to the manufacturers wiring diagrams.

The timer is usually located at the back of the appliance, it controls the timed defrost of the freezer. Test the timer and the defrost heater before suspecting anything else.

If the fridge is over cooling it may be the thermostat, try turning to minimum to confirm if cutting off. If not suspect the thermostat.

If the fridge is over cooling it may be the thermostat, try turning to minimum to confirm if cutting off. The defrost cycle may be held off until the fridge reaches the correct temperature.
