There is likely to be a temperature problem may be caused by internal ice. Empty the freezer and defrost for 48 hours with the door open and if the problem returns see our video: How to diagnose a fault with a frost free fridge freezer : www.espares.co.uk/advice/2/2113

Answer this question

I was wondering how straightforward this is to fit as it's something I would like to do myself. Also is this part malfunctioning a common problem as It's under 2 years old and I wouldn't expect to have to replace it so soon.

As this lamp assembly consists of a number of LED components it is unlikely that all would fail together. It is more likely that there is a problem with the switch or sensor on the door. Replacing the board should just require removing the cover and and screws mounting the board and unplugging the board.
