As seen in the second picture, there is a metal part that I assume is used to give more grip to the shaft when in place. I seem to have lost mine since the Knob broke.

The second image shows the D shaped metal fixing clip you refer to that will be supplied with this part.

I bought this knob but when I tried to fit it there is a part that is fitted to the knob to extend to reach metal fitting on cooker. Please advise. 1 Answer

If the shaft from the control is missing you will need to replace the control or switch not just the knob. See our Advice Centre for more information.
