This fridge freezer only 'regulates' the fridge temperature with the thermostat. In its design the engineers have assumed that it will be in a average kitchen with an ambient temperature of between 10 C and 25 C. In normal use as some cold from the fridge escapes every time you open the door then the fridge will have to keep topping up its 'cold'. when the compressor runs about 80% of the cooling is directed to the freezer bringing the freezer much lower in temperature. this is usually ok for most households. The biggest problem with this is if the ambient temperature goes below 10 C (in a garage in the winter for example) then the fridge does not need to start very often and as a result the freezer may defrost.
When I open the cover at the top of the fridge where the temp control knob is, there only seems to be a circuit board. Where is the thermostat on my fridge so I can replace it? 1 Answer

Your fridge does not have a conventional thermostat but a sensor and the control board.
