Plenty of water pressure at the tap. Does the aquastop hose control water flow and could this be the problem or is it more likely to be the valve?

You would need to test the valve with a multimeter to be sure it has failed but if you are not getting any water in then it is likely to be the valve.

It looks like the fitting on the AquaStop fill pipe is not compatible to my standard blue cold fill fitting. Is there an adapter to join the 2??

The hose tap connector should be the standard washing machine size. If it does not fit your tap you may need to contact a plumbers merchant for a thread ring adaptor to fit between your tap and a standard washing machine hose.
