My pump cover will not open to check for debris in the filter. I have snapped off the part you hold trying. Can I still use this part if so how do I get the old housing out. Machine WM12P360GB/03

The pump is held in by screws through the cabinet if the pump cover is damaged it will need to be replaced, use a towel and a pair of pliers to remove the cover.
- For future reference, yes, the pump comes just as the picture shows it, with housing and the fluff trap.
