I asked this question on th DC24 page of your website then realised that my Dyson was a DC25! I think this information would be helpful when deciding whether the brushbar needs replacing. Thank you.

Dyson dc25 animal ball. Sparked where brush turns..button doesn't turn the bar round now.

  • Check the condition of the bar first they often get get broken by small items getting lodged between the rotating bar and the case (hairgrips are a prime culprit) when this happens the metal item can actually cut right through the soft plastic of the bar and destroy it! If the bar looks to be in good condition then it is likely that it is the motor that is the problem. By Saguaro - Surrey - 13 August 2013
