A1-2 Smeg Oven Door Hinge Replacement
The absence of a relevant video on your site in order to assist oven door removal/replacement for this specific type of hinge must also indirectly limit your sales of related parts (hinge receivers, door seals, etc.) all of which first require the removal of the oven door. It would be very helpful for you to address this gap with the production of another short video. Will another video be available shortly?

- Agree totally with Tariq, these hinges are a nightmare although two of us managed it a few years back and as your other respondees I cannot find any help. Christmas just around the corner and no oven. As I understand it, the hinge has to be in the ‘wide open’ position so it will fit into the slot in the oven structure so it locks in position. Very difficult to explain in the words I can summon at this time of night. If any help out there PLEASE let me know, thanks!
- That video shows a different hinge. The A1 have the one where a pin has to be inserted to allow removal and refitting of doors. This is easier said than done. I am having trouble refitting as the hinges are very difficult to move to the open position as there are two holes in the hinges and therefore two possible postions to lock the hinge. I have tried both and cannot get the hinges to lock into the the hinge cavities in the oven. I have searched youtube for help but the few vids that show this hinge just explain a pin needs to be insertred ...etc but don't show the hinges up close and don't show which of the holes the pin needs to be inserted in. I cannot fit my door back to the oven.

To open a closed hinge fit it to the door and lever open. if you cannot then fit a metal pipe over the arm to increase leverage as you move it to the open position until you lock it in place.
- How do you open the new hinge? The video is for a different hinge type. I can't get the hinge to an open IE flatter position

We do not have access to this oven but think that there is a hole in the 'bracket that attaches to the cavity. If this is the case when the door is in the open position fit a small nail or drill through these hole's and as you start to lift the pin prevents the lever returning to the closed position. as you continue to close it should then loosen and unhook the door from the cooker. To refit lock the lever in the 'open position' with the nails and then offer the door to engage onto the cooker. Lower and remove the nails when fitted and close the door.
- Mathew (staff)does not understand the comment from his customer - his video does not help to fit the hinges on the A1 style smeg oven - the hinges are very different and very difficult!! I would appreciate a video as well - at the moment we are unable to 'prime' the new hinges into the correct position for fitting.
