how do i change the element on an indesit idl40
Answer this Question (2 Answers)
- i have just changed the heater element on a idl40 it is pretty straight forward but you need to disconnect waste and cold water plus mains. there is a plate on the base three screws each front / back remove the back ones first make sure you have a bucket for drain hose /water pipe and then tip machine on to its back remove the other three screws but be careful as there is a plug connector that needs un pluging you will then see the element underneath on right hand side behind wiring loom i used a torch 7/8mm 1/4 inch socket extention bar and rachet there is two purple wires and an earth that is under the fixing for element it is a bit fiddly when putting back together get someone to hold the door open when you replace element as door is sprung and the machine is on its back the rest is the reverse of dismantling and dont forget the two rubber terminal protecters

Hi there, replacing this element will probably require removing the top, back or side panels of your dishwasher. Look for the point in the roof of the dishwasher where the two connection points are, and then work backwards. Sorry I can't be of any more help, and best of luck!
