I see that the socket on this cable is a three pin type. Can you please confirm that this cable does have live, neutral and earth wiring (that the earth wiring is connected to both plug & socket)?

This will be the correct cable as supplied on some Numatic models. Many vacuum cleaners are 'Double insulated' and therefore do not require an earth connection even if they are supplied with a 3 pin mains plug.
