My oven door doesn't close properly - how do I know whether the runners or the hinges are causing the problem?

- I suspect that in the majority of such situations it is the runner which is the culprit. From an engineering point of view they are the weaker of the two components, and if the door has been (accidentally) overloaded in the past (eg by using it as a shelf when open) then the failure will likely have occurred at the runner. Unfortunately the runner is a bit more complicated to replace!
