Washer will run fine then unexpectedly motor will not start on trigger press.

I have cleaned out the pump and re-lubed, it ran without fault for about 3 hours then nothing. I suspect the capacitor but would expect to hear a humming sound from it but nothing. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

This sounds more like a thermal cut out that has tripped and cut the power while hot and may reset when it cools down. If this is the case the machine may stop for anything from 5 mins to over an hour depending on the type of model. Replacing the capacitor is unlikely to make a difference.
