Broken wand/floor tool connection: would this fit?

Hi, Broke the connection between the end part of the metal wand and the floor tool. Now, the section of the metal wand in question is about 50cm long, while the part attached to the floor tool here seems much shorter. Would it still fit/be ok? I don't want it to be too short, otherwise it would be harder to use, and I can't take the plastic part off the wand... Any other (additional) part you have that may fit the purpose?
