Do the plastic suspension pins just pull out and if so how but do I release them?

- On the end facing the back of the machine there is a little tab that needs to be pushed in so that the pin can slide out (towards the front) but it's diffucult to reach. I got it out by tapping it with a small metal block or a hammer if there's room.
